This group will be meeting at Pearl Street Books on the 4th Tuesday of each month at 5:30pm!
This LGBTQ+ book club will discuss books, short stories, films, graphic novels, and more that feature a diverse array of LGBTQ+ narratives. Everyone in the greater La Crosse community is welcomed to participate in our monthly discussions.
Books can be checked out at the La Crosse Public Library, purchased at Pearl Street Books, and/or found on Queer Liberation Library. Additional resources can be found here.

Galaxy
Galaxy is a group for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning middle and high school youth and their allies who want to hang out with other LGBTQ+ teens and discuss issues relevant to their lives. GALAXY creates a safe and drug-free space where kids can freely discuss issues, participate in activities that allow them to become educated about important issues and feel free to be who they are as unique, spectacular individuals!

Family Portraits & Professional Headshots on the Marsh
Our first event features family photos and professional-style headshots set against the beautiful marsh landscape. We’re partnering with Angie Capwell Photography and Fokus Photo to offer FREE photo sessions in the park at a suggested donation to The Nature Place.
Walk-ups will still be welcome, but those who register in advance will receive priority day of.
Angie Capwell Photography will capture photos of groups of three+.
Fokus Photo will capture photos of individuals & duos.
All donations will support The Nature Place’s free community programs.
Nature’s Living Room will also feature community resources specializing in financial wellbeing, wellness, parenting support, and guidance for those entering or returning to the workforce (so bring your resume!!)—alongside tons of hands-on workshops and activities for all ages.

Self Defense Class
Self-Defense Class
Twice a month we get together and learn and practice up to three new moves, and if desired practice or refresh previously learned moves. All ages and abilities are welcome. The instructors have experience with students of all ages and different needs, including mobility aids so don't let that stop you.
Additionally, if there is anything specific you are facing you can bring it up in class or one-on-one and get suggestions on how to handle it to keep yourself safe!

Come watch local activist eat progressively spicier wings, while following along in the audience!
16 +, Doors open at 6pm, Entertainment begins at 7pm
$30 Standard Ticket (10 wings, limited sauces, entertainment)
$50 VIP Ticket (front row seats, t-shirt from one of the participating orgs, bottle of hot sauce, served first, 10 wings, limited sauces, with additional surprises!)
Our host will be interviewing local community members as they eat progressively spicier wings. Come for the entertainment, food and fun! A vegan option will be available, as well as a cash bar.
This is a fundraiser for The Center: 7 Rivers LGBTQ Connection and Black Leaders Acquiring Collective Knowledge.
Additional sauces will be available to purchase throughout the event.

Driftless Pride Choir
Driftless Pride Choir, "A kindred space for Queer and Allied voices," is a newly-forming mixed-voice (SATB) community chorus for singers 18-years and older.
DPC are still in the planning and building phase and won't begin rehearsing for a few months. But if you'd like to be one of the founding members who are making this dream a reality, you are welcome at the planning meetings (even if you haven't attended previously).

Event by LaCrosse WI Annual Juneteenth Celebration:
Save the Date! Join us for this year’s Juneteenth celebration on Saturday, June 20th at Riverside Park from 12 PM to 8 PM. This is a wonderful opportunity for community connection with food, dancing, music, and fun!

Getting Tattooed:
Artists Missy Moe-Farino, Mike Marty, and Landon Sheely are generously donating their time and talent for the day.
Please note the following participation requirements:
30 appointments are available strictly on a first-come, first-served basis.
A waitlist of 10 additional spots will be available in the event someone drops out or misses their appointment. Being on the waitlist does not guarantee you a tattoo.
Flash designs and cost will be posted closer to the event date.
Designs can be tattooed in black and grey or color
Size, color, and tattoo location may impact the price of your tattoo. Location is limited to arms and legs only.
No modification to designs or stencils.
All clients must be at least 18 years of age to be tattooed. Valid identification is required.
You must be present when your name is called. If you are not available at that time, your position in the queue will be forfeited to the next person in line.
While the artists are donating the full cost of their services to ensure proceeds benefit The Center, we STRONGLY encourage attendees tip their artists in appreciation of their skill and generosity

This is a low stakes event to gather and create! Learn about zines, create your own, and/or make contributions to the community zine through The Center!

Whether you are questioning, just beginning to explore your gender identity, in the midst of transitioning, transitioned or just have lots of questions, you are welcome and vital to the group.

Driftless Pride Choir
Driftless Pride Choir, "A kindred space for Queer and Allied voices," is a newly-forming mixed-voice (SATB) community chorus for singers 18-years and older.
DPC are still in the planning and building phase and won't begin rehearsing for a few months. But if you'd like to be one of the founding members who are making this dream a reality, you are welcome at the planning meetings (even if you haven't attended previously).

Free yoga is available at The Center! This 3-session class will go over breathing exercises, yoga flows and encourage open discussion. These classes will be beginner friendly, and all bodies are welcome. Classes will be led by yoga teachers-in-training: Kevin, Kristal and Macie. Bring an open mind and an open heart. This class is free and open to all.

Self Defense Class
Self-Defense Class
Twice a month we get together and learn and practice up to three new moves, and if desired practice or refresh previously learned moves. All ages and abilities are welcome. The instructors have experience with students of all ages and different needs, including mobility aids so don't let that stop you.
Additionally, if there is anything specific you are facing you can bring it up in class or one-on-one and get suggestions on how to handle it to keep yourself safe!

Meet Our Instructor: Bryan James
Bryan has practiced martial arts for over 26 years and taught at the YMCA for 11. One of his classes includes an adaptive martial arts for those with physical and developmental adaptations needed. Bryan is energetic and outgoing and while self-defense is a serious topic, Bryan tries to make it a fun, enjoyable experience while learning it as well.
